What Is Concierge Medicine and Is It Right for You?

Concierge medicine is a personalized approach to healthcare that allows doctors to spend more time with their patients. In my practice, one of the most common things I hear from new patients is that they feel rushed, overlooked, or stuck navigating a system that prioritizes volume over understanding. Concierge medicine was designed to change that.

Unlike traditional primary care models, concierge medicine practices intentionally limit the number of patients they serve. This allows for longer appointments, same-day or next-day access when needed, and a stronger doctor–patient relationship built over time. Instead of reacting to problems as they arise, concierge medicine focuses on prevention, early intervention, and long-term health planning.

One of the most meaningful differences patients notice is access. Concierge patients typically have direct communication with their doctor and don’t have to wait weeks to address concerns. This level of availability allows us to catch small issues before they become bigger problems and to make thoughtful, individualized decisions rather than rushed ones. This approach is especially valuable for patients who benefit from coordinated care across multiple specialties, including cardiology, endocrinology, and rheumatology.

Concierge medicine can be an excellent fit for people who value continuity of care, want a more proactive approach to their health, or have complex medical needs that require deeper attention. Many of our patients appreciate having access to multi-specialty concierge medicine and on-site diagnostics, which allow for faster answers and more efficient care without unnecessary delays.

It’s also well suited for individuals who prefer working closely with one doctor who truly knows their medical history, goals, and lifestyle. At Ameli | Dadourian Medicine, concierge care is designed to feel collaborative, thoughtful, and personal—rather than transactional.

Healthcare should feel personal, not transactional. Concierge medicine gives doctors the time and structure needed to focus on what matters most: helping patients stay healthy, informed, and confident in their care.
